im a 5ft (still debatable), twenty-something geek who loves Jesus and likes taking pictures of the food i eat & the people i love. i make a living typing on a computer keyboard, selling polyresin gnomes and joke telling on the side.

Back home.

It always takes me awhile to adjust back to being home after a week of work in Vegas. It’s been incredibly hard for me to wake up in the mornings to exercise since I skipped a week of the gym in Vegas (the gym at the Cosmopolitan charged $20 a day). Hours are always long when we do trade shows so Starbucks & Coke also became my best friend again.

My coworker also quit while I was gone in Vegas. A lot of things happened prior to the show which I was somewhat caught in the middle of. I learned that it’s hard to be friends with coworkers when you are also in a place of authority when it comes to work. The balance is hard and in the end—you always end up being the “bad guy”. Long story short, she quit and she blamed me for it. One of the warehouse guys made a comment to me the other day saying that I always put other people before myself and I also look out for everyone. I know that the situation wasn’t my fault (if anything, I did my best to protect my coworker and warn her), but it is still hard to swallow when I know she feels like it was my fault.

So, lesson learned. It’s great to be have relationships with people at work, but it’s easier to just keep it at work. In other news, we might be moving offices/warehouses. There is over 10+ offices in the new place and the warehouse is also twice the size of our current one. The best part is that it’s so close to my apartment that I would be able to ride my bike if I wanted to. He is also considering putting a gym and shower in the new place. It would cool, but we’ll see what happens.

Today was a nice day. Church…lunch..movie and then dessert at the Cheesecake Factory :)

On the way home! My boss and Matt are watching the tennis channel on the drive home….tennis addicts.

Vegas…

It’s been a busy week so far, but it makes the days go by quickly. Just three more days and we get to go home. I can’t wait until I am laying in my bed and back to a normal schedule. If Vegas seems long for me…..I can only imagine how antsy I’ll be when I go to China later this year.

Okay—10 more minutes and it’s the start of another work day. I hope we go downstairs on time since we were late yesterday. Seeing that my coworker hasn’t even dress yet..I doubt it. :/

I finally got my hands on a girl scout Samoa cupcake. Best cupcake I’ve ever had.

Dear Tin, I got you a cupcake because you’re awesome. Love, Len.

I had a not so great day at work today (coworker drama 2 days before our first tradeshow of the year is no bueno). I can honestly say I wouldn’t mind if Jesus came back before Friday.

I am grateful for awesome sisters who randomly came down to take me to dinner and bought me enough healthy choice steamers to last me a few weeks :)

One of my favorite Christian songs. Takes me back to the heart & glory of worship.

so good

:)

It was freezing this morning and only two other girls showed up to boot camp. Instead of our normal workout—we got to use the weight/cardio machines.

These 3 machines are my all-time favorites of the moments and I wish I had them at my apartment gym. While I was doing the TRX band (there are hundreds of different exercises you can do with it), one of the girl’s said, “Why does Kathleen make it seem so easy?” I felt proud of myself. 30 reps of knee crunches and bridges is no joke on that thing. I don’t really see any results yet from all this exercise, but I must be getting stronger. Guess I just need to trust the process and keep on keepin’ on :)
