im a 5ft (still debatable) geek who likes taking pictures of the food she eats & the people she loves.

  • guess its almost time for bed.

Today was a great day. I got a lot done, did some farming and ended my night going to a movie screening with TJ. I hadn’t planned to go, but changed my mind at the last minute when TJ was ready to walk out the front door.

The movie was pretty good. It was about raising awareness of teen suicides and also how if we really stop and listen….we can make a difference in people’s lives. A lot of people feel alone, but sometimes we are too busy with life that we don’t notice other people hurting around us.

It is a Christian movie, but I liked how it showed the real side of things and it wasn’t overly “preachy”. I realized through the movie how people can be so turned off sometimes when you say “Jesus this or God that.” Especially with the younger generation who is skeptical of the whole “Christianity” thing to begin with. If you want to make a real impact, show it by your actions and not your words. Relate to them on something real that is happening in their life and don’t just throw them a bunch of Scriptures 24/7. That will come in time…but it will be them that will go searching for it…and that will make it more real to them and in their own time. And if anything…it was just a reminder to not judge people, but show them unconditional love regardless (even to those who haven’t always been the nicest to you).

Anyways, I had fun with TJ and I’m glad I ended up going. It gave me a chance to work on my people skills and the “don’t be too shy to talk” skills. The “your mom” jokes and little “sappy” parts were right up my alley too. lol. Oh, I loved the music too.
